Culbreath Isles & Culbreath Bayou in Tampa, FL

About Culbreath Isles & Culbreath Bayou

Conceived and begun in the 1920’s by Tampa nativeD.P. Davis, Davis Islands were built from sand dredged form the HillsboroughBay and heaped upon three, small existing islands and connecting mudflats atthe mouth of the Hillsborough River.

These man-made islands are situated at Tampa’s marine entrance, the mouth of the Hillsborough River. Literally built from the ground up in the 1920’s, Tampa native D.P. Davis had sand dredged form the Hillsborough Bay an heaped upon three, small existing islands and connecting mudflats. In time, Davis Islands have become an exclusive South Tampa community distinguished by elegant homes and grand estates. Now home to some 5,500 residents and 1,700 households, this neighborhood of quiet streets and winding lanes is truly one-of-a-kind as it affords a central locale while still feeling a world away from the hassles and congestion of city dwelling. Great location with close proximity to downtown Tampa and all other points of interest including I-275, MacDill AFB and Tampa International Airport.
