Bordering Bayshore Boulevard’s interbay water views, this community was established on 110 acres of land south of the city limits purchased in the 1890’s by Mr. and Mrs. Chester, the owners of Consumers Electric Light and Street Railway Company (later to become TECO).
As South Tampa grew and established areas connected via the communities that formed between them, Bayshore Beautiful became a premiere neighborhood due to the gorgeous homes and central South Tampa location. This area is now home to some 5,500 residents and an array of almost 2,700 homes comprised of modest inland condos and townhomes as well as opulent homes closer to the bay. A convenient locale guarantees swift access to some of the area’s finest schools, downtown Tampa, Tampa International Airport, MacDill AFB and Tampa’s entertainment destinations.
Primarily served by Plant High School and Robinson High School, Madison and Coleman Middle Schools and Roosevelt and Ballast Point Elementary Schools.
Additionally there are several nearby private schools including: Tampa Preparatory School, Berkeley Preparatory School, Tampa Catholic School, Academy of the Holy Names, Jesuit School, Sacred Heart Academy.
